ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis swimming and diving posted four victories Saturday in a tri-meet vs. Rockhurst and Southwest Baptist at Simon Recreation Center.
The Billiken women defeated Southwest Baptist 174-42 and Rockhurst 158-62. The Billiken men downed Southwest Baptist 159-52 and Rockhurst 114.50-104.50.
Tierney Kohl paced the women's team with two individual wins, touching first in the 400 IM (4:35.92) and 200 breast (2:21.17).
Meghan Eng recorded a win in the 200 back (2:05.35) and a second-place finish in the 200 free (1:57.08) and swam the leadoff leg on SLU's winning 200 medley relay team (1:46.92) that also included
Kenna Cashman,
Sarah Dingus and
Anya Brueggeman. Brueggeman (52.84) and Cashman (54.16) placed first and second, respectively, in the 100 free.
Also capturing victories were
Olivia Fox in 1-meter diving (252.68);
Karis Reynaga in the 1000 free (10:45.86);
Sasha Jancekova in the 200 free (1:56.61);
Hanna Whitney in the 50 free (25:15);
Mia Wilson in the 200 fly (2:13.03); and the 200 free relay squad of
Izabel Schmidt, Whitney, Dingus and Brueggeman (1:38.55).
Runner-up performances were turned in by
Bayley Thompson in 1-meter diving (227.25);
Morgan Walker in the 400 IM (4:45.37);
Emmy Barrett in the 200 back (2:06.67); and
Faith McAdam in the 500 free (5:16.02).
The Billiken men received wins from
Ben Mears in 1-meter diving (280.73);
Kyle Algrim in the 400 IM (4:08.91);
Zach Byars in the 200 back (1:53.85);
Ben Militti in the 500 free (4:47.15); the 200 medley relay quartet of
Evan Crim,
Tino Ferranti,
Logan Townsend and
Ethan Hudock (1:34.06); and the 200 free relay team of Townsend,
Tyler Williams,
Jake Lundquist and Algrim (1:25.20).
Ferranti finished second in the 50 free (21.86) and Townsend was runner-up in the 100 free (47:05). Also claiming second were
Samuel Martin in the 1000 free (10:25.94),
Daniel Jekov in the 200 back (1:56.12) and
Hayden Barnes in the 500 free (4:55.32).
The Billikens compete next in the House of Champions Meet in Indianapolis Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 20-22.
