ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis fell 68-52 to Southern Indiana on Wednesday night at Chaifetz Arena.
Both teams traded points early before USI went on a 6-0 run to take a 12-7 lead. The Screaming Eagles held a 16-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The Billikens went scoreless in the second quarter until
Zya Nugent hit a 3-pointer with 4:28 remaining, followed by an
Alyssa Koerkenmeier layup to pull SLU within one, 18-17. USI responded with a run to lead 26-21 at halftime.
Each team doubled its point total in the third quarter, but Southern Indiana outscored Saint Louis 26-22 to take a 52-43 lead into the final period.
The Screaming Eagles continued to push the pace in the fourth, sealing the 68-52 win.
