DAVIDSON, N.C. – Saint Louis University volleyball closed its season Saturday with a 3-1 loss to Davidson at John M. Belk Arena.
Set 1: SLU 25, DC 23
The teams traded points early before SLU put together a 3-0 run to go up 7-5, later stretching the lead to 11-7. Davidson closed within one at 12-11, but the Billikens responded and pushed ahead 17-13. The Wildcats surged late to take a 23-21 lead, but Saint Louis scored four straight to claim the opening set.
Set 2: SLU 27, DC 29
Davidson built a 13-10 advantage before SLU tied it at 15. The Wildcats moved ahead 24-19, but the Billikens battled back and fought off eight set points before Davidson closed it out 29-27.
Set 3: SLU 21, DC 25
The teams continued to trade points, with neither leading by more than two until Davidson pulled ahead 18-15. The Wildcats pushed the margin to 24-19. SLU added two more points but fell behind two sets to one.
Set 4: SLU 20, DC 25
Saint Louis took a 12-9 lead and extended it to 16-12, but Davidson answered with five straight to go up 17-16 and never trailed again. SLU tied it several times, including at 20-20, before the Wildcats closed the match with another 5-0 run.
