  • The Billikens are looking for their first 5-0 start to the season since the 2020-21 squad began the year 6-0.
  • SLU has won seven in a row at Chaifetz Arena dating back to last season. 
  • Friday's game concludes a five-game homestand for the Bills. They are away from Chaifetz Arena for their next three – two at the Acrisure Invitational in Palm Desert, Calif., and against LMU in Los Angeles.
  • The Billikens are the top scoring team in the A-10, ranking first in scoring offense (96.8 ppg), FG% (.535) and scoring margin (+26.0).
  • The Bills are equally efficient on the defensive end. Opponents shoot just 36.4 percent against them, the top mark in the A-10. The Bills held Grand Canyon to just 28.4 percent shooting the last time out.
  • Amari McCottry has scored in double figures in all four games and leads SLU with 17.3 ppg. He was named the A-10 co-Player of the Week on Monday.
  • Robbie Avila scores 14.0 ppg and pulls down 5.0 rpg.  
  • Dion Brown is the Billikens' top rebounder at 8.3 rpg. He brought down a career-best 15 boards against GCU. 
  • Ishan Sharma is second in the league in 3s made per game (3.00) and third in 3-point field-goal percentage (.545).
  • Robbie Avila has been named to preseason Watch Lists for the Naismith Trophy, Oscar Robertson Trophy, Wooden Award and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award. Last season he averaged 17.3 points and 6.9 rebounds. He led all centers in Division I in 3s made per game and assists per game. 
  • Billiken head coach Josh Schertz is in his 18th season as a collegiate head coach. His .774 winning percentage ranks in the top 10 among active coaches in the NCAA.

ABOUT PURDUE FORT WAYNE

  • The Mastadons are 2-4 on the season. They are coming off a competitive game at Utah on Tuesday, where they fell 85-77.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne is led in scoring by Corey Hadnot II, who averages 19.5 ppg. He dropped 20 points in the game against Utah. Hadnot's 45 field goals made are second in the NCAA, while his 117 points ranks ninth.
  • DeAndre Craig Jr. averages 15.8 ppg. Mikale Stevenson (13.3 ppg) leads the team in assists (3.3/game).
  • Darius Duffy is Purdue Fort Wayne's top rebounder (5.5 rpg) and shot blocker (1.5 bpg).
  • Head coach Jon Coffman is the program's all-time winningest coach at 200-159 in 12 seasons. Last year, the Mastadons went 19-13 overall and 12-8 in the Horizon League.

SERIES HISTORY

  • SLU won the only previous meeting, 78-66 at Enterprise Center on Feb. 16, 2005. Ian Vouyoukas and Luke Meyer each posted then career-high point totals with 18 and 14 points, respectively.
