Algrim Sets Records on House of Champions Final Day

INDIANAPOLISKyle Algrim set his second and third school records Saturday to lead Saint Louis on the final day of the House of Champions Invitational at the Indiana University Natatorium.
 
Algrim broke two Saint Louis marks while finishing fourth in the 1650 free. His clockings of 15:40.57 for the full route and 9:25.63 over the first 1000 yards are program bests.
 
On Friday, Algrim established the Billikens' 400 IM record by swimming 3:54.46 in the prelims.
 
Scoring for the SLU men in Saturday's consolation finals were Drayton Beber, 10th in the 100 IM (51.79); Brae Sanchez, 11th in the 200 breast (2:03.06); Logan Townsend, 12th in the 100 free (45.14); Zach Byars, tied for 13th in the 200 back (1:49.70); Noah Benton, 15th in the 100 IM (52.48); and Ryan Fors, 16th in the 50 fly (23.18).
 
Additional scorers for the Billiken men, who finished seventh in the 12-team field with 1,302.50 points, were:

Sarah Dingus was the top finisher for the Billiken women Saturday, placing eighth in the 50 fly (25.73). The 400 free relay team of Kenna Cashman, Kamila Nowak, Hanna Whitney and Anya Brueggeman also finished eighth (3:29.16).
 
Scoring for the SLU women in Saturday's consolation finals were Tierney Kohl, ninth in the 200 breast (2:19.55); Faith McAdam, 10th in the 200 fly (2:04.22); and Emmy Barrett, 15th in the 200 back (2:04.33).
 
Additional scorers for the Billiken women, who finished eighth among 14 teams with 1,024 points, were:

On Thursday, Eng swam a Saint Louis-record 26.01 in the 50 back. The time was posted in a swim-off, won by Eng, to determine advancement to the championship final.
