WHAT'S ON TAP?

  • Saint Louis plays host to the Lindenwood Lions on Monday night. It's the first time SLU has faced Lindenwood in regular-season action.
  • This is the third game of five-game homestand to start the season for the Billikens. SLU has Grand Canyon (Saturday, Nov. 15) and Purdue Fort Wayne (Friday, Nov. 21) still to come at home these first three weeks of the season.

FOLLOWING THE ACTION

  • Monday's matchup against Lindenwood will be streamed live on ESPN+. Colin Suhre will call the action. The game will not be televised.
  • KMOX 1120 AM is the home for Billiken Basketball on the radio. Billiken Hall of Famers and longtime SLU men's basketball radio partners Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will the call the action for all SLU games, both at home and on the road. Billiken Basketball sends a special salute to Rammer, who is in his 40th season as the radio voice of SLU hoops. Austin is in year No. 35.

NEWS & NOTES

  • The Billikens have defeated Southeast Missouri State 92-67 and Chicago State 108-86 to open the season.
  • SLU's 108 points against Chicago State last Thursday were the second-most for the Billikens at Chaifetz Arena.
  • Monday's game against Lindenwood is the 300th game for the Bills at Chaifetz Arena. SLU is in its 18th season at Chaifetz Arena and has a 220-79 all-time on its home court.
  • The Bills' .870 free-throw percentage ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA early on. Saint Louis shot 90.9 percent (30-33) from the stripe against Chicago State, the best performance from the line while taking 30 or more free throws in recent history.
  • Robbie Avila leads the Billikens with 16.5 ppg. He is one of six Billikens averaging double figures through the first two games of the season. Avila dropped a game-high 18 points in the opener against SEMO.
  • Ishan Sharma topped SLU with 16 points – thanks in part to five triples – in the win against Chicago State. 
  • Kellen Thames is second in the A-10 in steals per game (3.50).
  • Senior center Robbie Avila has been named to preseason Watch Lists for the Naismith Trophy, Oscar Robertson Trophy and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award. Last season he averaged 17.3 points and 6.9 rebounds. He led all centers in Division I in 3s made per game and assists per game. 
  • Billiken head coach Josh Schertz is in his 18th season as a collegiate head coach. His .774 winning percentage ranks in the top 10 among active coaches in the NCAA.
  • Up next, the Billikens host Grand Canyon on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Chaifetz Arena.

ABOUT THE LIONS

  • Lindenwood enters Monday night's contest 1-1 overall.
  • The Lions opened the season Nov. 4, falling 98-60 at 10th-ranked Texas Tech. Lindenwood captured its first win of the season the last time out, topping Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis 116-51. 
  • Mekhi Cooper, a transfer from Miami (Ohio), scored a team-high 15 points at Texas Tech. Milos Nenadic and Robert Lewis posted double-doubles against the Red Raiders.
  • Last season, Lindenwood won 16 games, the most in a single season in the Division I era and the most wins for the program since 2018-19. The Lions were picked to finish fifth in the 11-team Ohio Valley Conference.
  • Jadis Jones started all 33 games last season as a freshman and averaged 12.5 points and 5.8 rebounds. He was named OVC Freshman of the Week 12 times, setting an OVC record.
  • Kyle Gerdeman is in his seventh year at the helm of the Lindenwood men's basketball program in 2025-26. 

SERIES HISTORY

  • This is the first time SLU and Lindenwood has played in a regular-season game.
  • The teams met in an exhibition game Oct. 31, 2021. SLU prevailed 89-66 at Chaifetz Arena.
