Billikens Roll Past Central Michigan, 107-65

ST. LOUIS – Quentin Jones led four Billikens in double figures with a season-high 19 points, and Saint Louis rolled to a 107-65 victory over Central Michigan Sunday at Chaifetz Arena.

The Billikens improved to 8-1 with the victory. The Chippewas fell to 3-6.

Jones hit 6-of-8 from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point range to account for his 19 points. 

Kellen Thames hit all six of his shots from the field en route to a career-high 17 points. Amari McCottry (6-9 FG) went for 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Dion Brown (6-9 FG) finished with 13 points.

Jax Kerr finished with a career-best nine points on 4-of-4 shooting – three dunks and a 3-pointer. Cam Hutson finished with a career-high four points.

This is the first time since the 1994-95 season that the Billikens have had three games in a season of scoring 100 or more points.

The Billikens posted a season-high in assists for the second straight game, finishing with 26 on the night. Five Billikens finished with a season high in assists against Central Michigan. Coupled with the 24 in the last game at LMU, the Bills have registered 50 assists over the last two games.

SLU committed a season-low four turnovers. The Bills shot 58 percent from the field, including a sizzling 63.6 percent mark in the second half, and 72.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Billikens registered a 58-18 advantage in points in the paint. 

The game was tied at 5-5 before the Billikens broke the game open with a 20-0 run, and SLU never looked back.

SLU returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 13, when it takes on San Francisco at Chaifetz Arena. Game time is 7 p.m
