WASHINGTON – Saint Louis junior guard Quentin Jones was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Jones guided the Billikens to 2-0 week with wins at Loyola Marymount and at home against Central Michigan. He averaged a team-best 17.5 ppg and shot 60 percent from the field.
In the Billikens' 91-70 victory at LMU in Los Angeles, Jones stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, a season-high seven assists, five rebounds and three steals.
On Sunday, Jones led SLU to a 107-65 win against Central Michigan at Chaifetz Arena. He pumped in a season-best and team-high 19 points thanks in part to 4-of-6 shooting from the floor.Â
For the season, Jones averages 10.8 ppg and 4.1 rpg. He is 78 points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark for his career.
Jones and the Billikens are back in action Saturday night, Dec. 13, when they host the San Francisco Dons at Chaifetz Arena. Game time on FanDuel Sports Network is set for 7 p.m.
