MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Louis fell 16-3 in seven innings at Saint Mary's on Saturday in the third game of a four-game series in Moraga, Calif.
The Billikens (1-2) will look to salvage a split in the series finale, which is scheduled for noon (CT) on Sunday.
Saint Louis jumped on top 3-1 after an inning and a half. In the top of the first, Riley Iffrig scored Hayden Moore on a sacrifice fly. In the top of the second, Austin Neuweg scored on an Ian Halverson sacrifice fly, and the Bills plated another run when Hank Gomric trotted home on a wild pitch.
But Saint Mary's would score 15 unanswered runs to take the game 16-3. A six-run sixth inning by the Gaels put the game out of reach.
Moore reached base four times with a double and three walks. Brendan Stressler and Gomric also had hits for the Billikens.
