Billikens Honored for Academic Achievement

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis field hockey was honored by the NFHCA recently for its work in the classroom.

The Billikens received the prestigious National Academic Team Award, had 10 student-athletes earn National Academic Squad recognition, and three Billikens were named Scholars of Distinction.

Saint Louis was one of 57 Division I teams earning the esteemed National Academic Team Award. This prestigious acknowledgment is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year. In the Fall 2024 semester, Billiken field hockey student-athletes posted an impressive 3.67 cumulative GPA.

Student-athletes named to the National Academic Squad achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester and were nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. Those Billikens were Ava Calma, Shaya Dry, Ella Etherington, India Hayes, Ashley Jones, Sierra Larson, Josefina Perez, Savina Purewal, Abby Schalow and Abby Vidas.

Finally, the NFHCA recognizes student-athletes who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher in the fall semester as Division I Scholars of Distinction. Ella Etherington, Sierra Larson and Abby Vidas were recognized from SLU on the prestigious list.
