THE BASICS
Taylor Hochman tossed a two-hitter and Abby Mallo and Anna Christ homered and doubled to lead Saint Louis to a 6-0 victory over Northern Illinois Sunday afternoon at Lindenwood's Lou Brock Sports Complex.
 
The shutout was the fourth of Hochman's SLU career. Christ's home run was her first as a Billiken, and Mallo's round-tripper was her third of the season.
 
The Billikens evened their record at 4-4.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis grabbed an early lead on Mallo's two-out RBI double in the bottom of the first inning.
•Kendall Johnson doubled the lead with an RBI single in the fourth.
•With two outs in the fifth, Mallo and Christ slugged back-to-back two-out solo homers to make it 4-0 Billikens.
•RBI singles by Abby Ulsas and Jane Kaniecki in the sixth concluded the scoring.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Hochman improved to 4-0 and lowered her ERA to 0.27. She struck out five and walked only two.
•Kaniecki added a single for a two-hit game.
•Chloe Rhine had a double.
