EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Saint Louis University baseball team defeated SIUE, 9-2, Tuesday afternoon at the Simmons Baseball Complex.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning before Saint Louis regained the lead, 2-1, on a two-RBI double by Riley Iffrig in the third. SIUE tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the third, and the score remained tied for the next three innings.
The Billikens loaded the bases in the seventh and scored three runs on a walk and a two-RBI single by Brenden Stressler.
Saint Louis sealed the win with four runs in the ninth, driven in by Kamaehu Sanchez, Ian Halverson, and two from Hayden Moore.
Chase Minor earned the win with 4.2 innings of work. He allowed one hit, no runs, and struck out three.
