THE BASICS
Abby Mallo was 6-for-7 with seven RBIs and Jane Kaniecki was 4-for-5 with five RBIs Saturday to lead Saint Louis on day two of the Kennesaw State Tournament
 
The Billikens routed Rider 13-1 in five innings in their first game of the day, then fell 7-6 in eight innings to Kennesaw State in the nightcap.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis wasted no time taking command, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. Kaniecki's RBI single and Mallo's fifth home run of the season, a two-run blast, were the big hits.
•Another Kaniecki RBI single in the second made it 4-0.
•The Billikens doubled their lead to 8-0 in the third. Abby Ulsas delivered a sacrifice fly, Kaniecki drew a bases-loaded walk, and Mallo drove in two runs with a single.
•Rider tallied its only run in the bottom of the third.
•SLU scored four more times in the fourth. Ulsas plated the first run with an RBI single, Kaniecki knocked in two more with a single, and Allie Marietta made it 12-1 with an RBI single.
•Ulsas completed the scoring with a fifth-inning RBI double.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Isabel Royle notched her first victory of the season in the circle. Royle tossed four innings and allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out three.
•Mallo added a single to match Kaniecki's three-hit effort.
•Kendall Johnson had two singles.
•Natalie Sullivan doubled, and Scout Gallagher and Karsen Jany registered a single apiece.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Kennesaw State struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first.
•Saint Louis answered right away with a five-run second inning. Jany singled in the first run, Mallo produced a two-run single, and Gallagher finished the rally with a two-run double.
•Kennesaw State pulled even with a run in the third and two in the fourth.
•Mallo's seventh-inning RBI double put the Billikens in front 6-5.
•Kennesaw State tallied the tying run in the seventh and the winning run in the eighth.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Mallo tacked on a single for a three-hit game.
•Chloe Rhine doubled, and Kaniecki singled.
