THE BASICS
Saint Louis opened the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference schedule Friday with a doubleheader loss to Dayton, falling 4-0 and 13-8 at UD Softball Stadium.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Dayton scored three runs in the third inning and added an insurance run in the fifth.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Abby Ulsas doubled and singled.
•Karsen Jany registered a triple.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Natalie Sullivan hit her first home run of the season in the top of the first to give SLU a 1-0 lead. After Abby Mallo doubled and Chloe Rhine walked, Scout Gallagher ripped a two-run double to make it 3-0.
•The Billikens doubled the lead in the second. Sullivan tripled home Allie Marietta and Jany, who had walked and doubled, respectively, and Mallo delivered an RBI single.
•Dayton scored twice in its half of the second.
•Saint Louis got one of those runs back in the third as Ulsas recorded an RBI single for a 7-2 lead.
•Dayton erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the third, and a fifth-inning run put the Flyers on top 13-7.
•The Billikens rallied in the seventh. Three walks loaded the bases, and Ulsas produced another run-scoring single to put the potential tying run in the on-deck circle before Dayton registered the final two outs.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Jane Kaniecki singled twice.
•Kendall Johnson doubled.
•Marietta had a single and three walks.

•The Billikens and Flyers wrap up the series Saturday with a single game that starts at 11 a.m. Central.
