SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Saint Louis baseball team fell 9-7 after a late game surge by Missouri State.

The Billikens opened the scoring with a
Riley Iffrig three-run shot in the first inning. Missouri State answered with a home run of their own in the first.

Ian Blazier hit a solo home run in the second to give SLU the 4-1 lead. The Bears then answered with two runs to cut the lead to 4-3.

Brenden Stressler had an RBI double in the fifth to score
Ethan Sitzman.

The Billikens went into the seventh leading 5-4.
Max McGwire and
Ian Halverson each hit an RBI single to score two and push the lead to 7-4.

The Bears exploded in the bottom of the seventh with five runs to take the lead 9-7.

The game was called in the eighth inning due to lightning.

Saint Louis plays its first games at home this weekend with a series against South Dakota State. Game one will take place on Friday at 6 p.m.
