BILLIKENS IN RHODE ISLAND FOR MONDAY DOUBLEHEADER
•Due to rain, Saint Louis (20-19, 9-5 A-10) and Rhode Island (9-23, 3-9 A-10) will play a doubleheader instead of a three-game series. The twinbill is scheduled for 9 a.m. Central on Monday, April 14, at the URI Softball Complex in Kingston, R.I.
•SLU begins play Monday in fourth place in the A-10, trailing Dayton (10-4), George Washington (12-5) and Fordham (11-6).
•The Billikens take a five-game overall winning streak into Monday's action. They have won seven straight and nine of their last 11 A-10 games.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
•A career-high 14 home runs this season have padded Abby Mallo's career total to 37, tying Sadie Wise (2018-22) for Saint Louis' all-time record. Also, Mallo is closing in on Wise's SLU single-season mark of 16 home runs set in 2018. With 50 RBIs, she is approaching her own SLU record of 54 RBIs set in 2023.
•Mallo has hit safely in 14 of her last 16 games. In those 16 games, she is batting .471 (24-for-51) with seven home runs, seven doubles, 30 RBIs, a .541 OBP, eight multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games.
•Abby Ulsas has hit safely in 16 of her last 20 games (26-for-69, .377) with 11 RBIs, nine multi-hit games and just six strikeouts in 76 plate appearances.
•In her last seven outings (six starts), Taylor Hochman has a 4-1 record, a 1.64 ERA, three shutouts and a .221 opponents' batting average.
•In her last 23 games, Allie Marietta is batting .395 (15-for-38) with a .558 OBP and six sacrifice bunts.

SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND

•Junior catcher Kylie Bulinski (.305), sophomore outfielder/catcher Sydney Orndorff (.300), freshman outfielder Allison Jones (.295) and freshman infielder Katie Knarr (.290) are Rhode Island's top hitters.
•Bulinski also leads the team in home runs (five) and on-base percentage (.455) while ranking second in RBIs (15).
•Knarr has a team-high 18 RBIs, while senior infielder Emily Power has driven in 14 runs.
•Sophomore left-hander Avery Vale-Cruz carries a team-best 4.75 ERA and averages a strikeout per inning.
•Junior left-hander Ashley Hibbard leads the staff with three wins and 13 starts.
 
UP NEXT
•Four home games are on the Saint Louis schedule the rest of the week. The Billikens host Eastern Illinois for a non-conference single game Wednesday, April 16, at 4 p.m. George Mason is in town for an A-10 series April 18-19, with Friday's doubleheader and Saturday's single game beginning at noon.
