ST. LOUIS – Forward Brady Dunlap, who spent the last two seasons at St. John's, announced his intention to transfer to Saint Louis University to continue his basketball career. It is anticipated that Dunlap will have three years of eligibility beginning with the 2025-26 season.
"Brady has a great basketball IQ and impacts winning in a variety of ways," SLU head coach Josh Schertz said. "His ability to think the game and make quick decisions with and without the ball fits our system perfectly, and his defensive IQ is every bit as high as his offensive IQ. Brady's ability and willingness to do all of the invisible things that help to glue the offense together will allow him to be a high impact player for us."
The 6-foot-7 Dunlap played in 35 games (six starts) during his two years with the Red Storm. He was a 41 percent shooter from the field and shot 33.3 percent from 3-point range.
As a sophomore in 2024-25, Dunlap appeared in 10 games (two starts) and was averaging 5.7 ppg before missing the rest of the season with an injury. He dropped a career-high 20 points thanks in part to a 5-of-7 mark from three in a St. John's victory over Quinnipiac. Dunlap has applied for a medical hardship waiver so as to not have the season count against his eligibility.
Dunlap played in 25 games and started four times as a freshman in 2023-24. He turned in 3.2 ppg for St. John's, including a 13-point effort against Butler and a season-high 15 points against Villanova.
A native of Los Angeles suburb Newhall, Calif., Dunlap was a high-level recruit out of Harvard-Westlake School. He helped the Wolverines to the 2023 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) championship. Dunlap also played for the LeBron James' sponsored team, Strive for Greatness, on the Nike NYBL Circuit in 2022 and averaged 16 ppg.
