Game 2 – Massachusetts 6, Saint Louis 2
Friday, May 2, 2025

THE BASICS
Abby Mallo had two RBIs and set two Saint Louis single-season records, and Taylor Hochman equaled her career high for wins in the Billikens' 3-1 victory over Massachusetts in the opener of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader Friday afternoon.

UMass won the nightcap 6-2, halting SLU's winning streaks at 15 games overall and 16 conference games, both school records.

Saint Louis' game-one win was its 30th of the season, giving the Billikens (30-20, 18-6 A-10) 30 or more wins for a third consecutive season and sixth time in program history.

Mallo hit her 17th home run of the year, a solo blast, to break the previous record of 16 held by Sadie Wise (2018). She also had an RBI double; the six total bases increased her total to 121, breaking Wise's school mark of 119 (2018).

Hochman improved to 15-6; she also had 15 victories a year ago. In addition to tying her career high for wins, she matched her career bests for appearances (32) and starts (26).

Natalie Sullivan recorded two walks in the opener to lift her career total to 131, tying Alex Nickel (2014-17) for the Saint Louis record.
