TYSONS, Va. – The Saint Louis University baseball team saw its season come to an end with two losses in the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals, falling 8-2 to top-seeded Rhode Island and 16-2 to No. 2 seed George Mason.
Game 1: Rhode Island 8, Saint Louis 2
Rhode Island opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Saint Louis responded in the fifth when Ethan Sitzman doubled, followed by an RBI double from Kamaehu. Hayden Moore added an RBI single to tie the game at 2-2.
The Rams regained the lead in the eighth with another two-run homer. They then added back-to-back home runs and a sacrifice fly to stretch the lead to the final score of 8-2.
Game 2: George Mason 16, Saint Louis 2
George Mason jumped out to an early lead, scoring nine runs in the first inning. The Patriots added three more in the second, two in the third, and two in the fifth to go up 16-0.
The Billikens plated two runs in the sixth on a Chase Beattie RBI double and a sacrifice fly by Moore to make it 16-2.
Saint Louis finishes the season with a 33-26 record.
