Complete Postseason Awards List
WASHINGTON – Saint Louis University junior catcher
Abby Mallo, who established herself as one of the nation's top power hitters this season, has been named Atlantic 10 Conference softball co-Player of the Year. Mallo is the first player in program history to earn an A-10 Player of the Year award and is one of six Billiken softball student-athletes to garner 2025 A-10 postseason accolades.
Mallo earned the second All-Conference honor of her career with her selection to the first team. Saint Louis has placed at least one player on the A-10 first team every year since 2013 except for the pandemic-shortened season of 2020, when the conference did not hand out postseason awards.
Junior shortstop
Chloe Rhine and head coach
Christy Connoyer also were recipients of major awards. Rhine was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Connoyer claimed Coach of the Year plaudits for a second time in three seasons.
Senior left fielder
Natalie Sullivan and senior pitcher
Taylor Hochman were voted to the All-Conference second team. Sullivan collected A-10 postseason laurels for a fourth consecutive season (All-Conference in 2023, 2024 and 2025, All-Rookie in 2022). Hochman's selection is her first All-Conference nod and second postseason honor (All-Rookie in 2022).
Redshirt-freshman pitcher
Anna Christ and freshman designated player
Scout Gallagher landed on the All-Rookie team, giving Saint Louis at least two All-Rookie choices for a fourth consecutive year.
SLU tied the school record for A-10 All-Academic selections as Sullivan (marketing major, 3.954 GPA), Hochman (education and mathematics major, 3.770 GPA) and Mallo (biomedical engineering major, 3.42 GPA) were chosen to the 10-member list. Hochman and Sullivan are repeat selections from 2024. SLU has placed at least two student-athletes on the All-Academic team 13 times in 20 years of A-10 membership, including each of the past five seasons.
Mallo leads the A-10 in home runs (18), RBIs (73) and total bases (125) – setting school records in all three categories – as well as runners caught stealing (12). Nationally, she ranks fourth in RBIs, 25th in home runs, 37th in total bases and 39th in runners caught stealing. A four-time A-10 Player of the Week, Mallo also is among the league's top 10 in hits (second, team-high 59), slugging percentage (third, team-high .776), doubles (tied for third, team-high 12), batting average (fifth, team-high .366), sacrifice flies (tied for fifth, team-high-tying three), runs (tied for seventh, 37) and on-base percentage (10th, .447). She has made the NFCA's "Selected Top Performances" list three times and the NCAA "Lineup of the Week" twice this season. Mallo set SLU's career home run record (now 41) earlier this season, and her 157 career RBIs are just 16 shy of the school record.
Sullivan ranks among the conference's top 10 in 10 categories, including a tie for first in runs (50). She is fourth in on-base percentage (team-high .476) and walks (team-high 36, tied for 43rd nationally); tied for fourth in stolen bases (team-high 22 in 23 attempts) and triples (team-high four); fifth in hits (53) and total bases (81); tied for fifth in doubles (11); seventh in slugging percentage (.533); and 10th in batting average (.349). Sullivan also has three home runs and 29 RBIs. She made the NFCA's "Selected Top Performances" list for April 14-20 and was chosen to the All-Tournament team at Hawaii's Paradise Classic. Sullivan's 131 career walks are tied for the Saint Louis record, and her 161 runs are just eight away from the school mark.
Hochman's league-leading seven shutouts rank fifth nationally and are just one short of the school record. She is second in the conference in wins (15-6), ERA (2.22), innings (164 1/3, 34th nationally), starts (27, 20th nationally) and appearances (33); tied for second in complete games (15, 38th nationally); third in hits allowed per seven innings (6.13); and fifth in opponents' batting average (.236) and strikeouts (99). Hochman has been recognized twice on the NFCA's "Selected Top Performances" list and was named to the All-Tournament team at Hawaii's Paradise Classic. Her performance this year has lifted her into the top 10 on eight Billiken career lists.
Rhine ranks second in the A-10 and 47th nationally with 114 assists, a total that has propelled her into ninth place on SLU's career list with 326 assists. She has been a part of 11 of the Billikens' league-leading 24 double plays. Rhine has a .962 fielding percentage in all games, and she committed only two errors in 88 chances in A-10 action for a .977 mark.
Christ has been strong out of the bullpen, especially in conference play where she posted a 2-1 record, a 1.78 ERA, a 0.99 WHIP (only four walks in 19 2/3 innings) and a .214 opponents' batting average over eight appearances. She has four total victories.
Gallagher is tied for sixth in the A-10 with six home runs and tied for third on the Billikens with 29 RBIs, 14 of which have come with two outs to rank second on the team. Her .235 batting average also includes five doubles.
Connoyer led Saint Louis to an A-10 regular-season runner-up finish. The Billikens reached 30 wins, including a school-record 15-game winning streak, for a third successive year and earned a third straight A-10 Championship first-round bye. Connoyer registered her 400th career victory when SLU defeated George Washington 3-0 on April 6.
