•No. 2 seed Saint Louis (30-21) takes on No. 3 seed Fordham (28-24) in an Atlantic 10 Conference Championship second-round game Thursday, May 8. First pitch is slated for 12:30 p.m. Central (note time change) at GW Softball Field in Washington, D.C.

•Saint Louis earned a first-round bye in the six-team double-elimination tournament for a third consecutive year. Fordham advanced with an 8-1 victory over No. 6 Loyola Chicago in Wednesday's first round.

•Thursday's meeting is the 48th all-time between Fordham and Saint Louis. The Rams lead the Billikens 31-16, including a 5-1 edge in A-10 Championship play. However, the Bills took two of three in St. Louis earlier this year, winning 10-2 (six innings) and 6-0 before Fordham captured the finale 6-1.

•The game matches the 2025 A-10 co-Players of the Year – catchers
Abby Mallo of Saint Louis and Sydney Wells of Fordham. Mallo leads the league with 18 home runs and 73 RBIs, both school records, and carries a team-high .366 batting average. Wells leads the Rams in batting average (.379), home runs (16), RBIs (50), on-base percentage (.546) and walks (47).

Allie Marietta led Saint Louis in the regular-season series with team highs in batting average (4-for-5, .800) and on-base percentage (.875). Mallo was 5-for-9 with a team-high three RBIs,
Natalie Sullivan was 3-for-9, and
Jane Kaniecki and
Abby Ulsas both went 3-for-10. Everyone in SLU's starting lineup tallied at least one RBI.

Taylor Hochman fired a four-hitter to win game two.

•SLU is aiming for its first A-10 Championship title and first NCAA Championship bid. The Billikens were tournament runners-up a year ago.
