HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis took advantage of two Fordham miscues to grab a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Leadoff batter
Scout Gallagher reached on an error and scored from first base on a throwing error on
Chloe Rhine's sacrifice, with Rhine advancing to third. She scored on
Kendall Johnson's RBI single.
•Fordham tied the score in the third, but SLU tallied twice in its half of the frame to go on top 4-2. Sullivan led off with a single, stole second and scored on Kaniecki's one-out RBI single. Gallagher's single moved pinch runner
Addie Duttlinger, who had stolen second base, to third. Rhine walked to load the bases, and with two outs,
Allie Marietta was hit by a pitch.
•Two more Fordham runs in the fourth made it a 4-4 game.
•The Billikens regained the lead in their half of the fourth.
Abby Ulsas led off and was hit by a pitch, and Sullivan's bunt single moved her to second. Ulsas scooted to third on
Abby Mallo's flyout to right and scored on Kaniecki's sacrifice fly.
•Fordham answered once again in the fifth, plating two runs to finish the scoring.
•Mallo singled leading off the seventh. Pinch runner
Kate Proffitt advanced to second on Kaniecki's sacrifice but was stranded.
