ST. LOUIS – Six Saint Louis field hockey student-athletes were honored recently on the College Sports Communicators' 2025 Academic All-District Women's At-Large team.
The Billikens recognized were Shaya Dry, Ashley Jones, Josefina Perez, Julia Rooijakkers, Olivia Smith and Abby Vidas.
To be eligible for All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, be a starter or important reserve, and maintain a cumulative GPA above 3.5. Perez was advanced to the Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America teams will be released July 8.
The Billikens had an impressive year in the classroom. As a team, SLU field hockey student-athletes achieved a 3.64 cumulative GPA across the academic year. Saint Louis was one of 57 Division I teams earning the esteemed National Academic Team Award. This prestigious acknowledgment is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester.
Student-athletes named to the National Academic Squad achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester and were nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. Those Billikens were Ava Calma, Shaya Dry, Ella Etherington, India Hayes, Ashley Jones, Sierra Larson, Josefina Perez, Savina Purewal, Abby Schalow and Abby Vidas.
Finally, the NFHCA recognized student-athletes who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher in the fall semester as Division I Scholars of Distinction. Ella Etherington, Sierra Larson and Abby Vidas were recognized from SLU on that prestigious list.
