Saint Louis leads 25-5-3 |
Saint Louis kicks off its men's soccer season on Thursday night when it hosts South Florida at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
The Billikens welcome 17 new players (13 freshmen and four transfers) to this year's roster. Last season, Saint Louis went 8-5-8 overall and 4-1-3 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Bills earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship, their NCAA-record 51st tournament appearance.
The Bulls, who were picked to finish third in the American preseason poll, went 6-6-4 overall and 4-3 in the league a season ago. The South Florida roster features an international flavor, with student-athletes from 13 different countries competing for the Bulls.Â

2 //Â SLU senior goalkeeper Jeremi Abonnel, last year's Atlantic 10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, was named to the league's preseason All-Conference team. He also checked in at No. 55 on Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 Players list.
3 //Â Sophomore midfielder Drake Fournier came in at No. 66 on Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 Players rankings.Â
4 // SLU head coach Kevin Kalish, a two-time A-10 Coach of the Year, is in his eighth season at SLU and 14th overall as a collegiate head coach. Kalish is 69-31-27 during his time at SLU and 118-77-41 in his career.
5 //Â Saint Louis and South Florida are meeting for the 34th time. The series dates back to the 1960s, and the teams played regularly as members of Conference USA from 1995 to 2004. SLU leads the series 25-5-3 and won the last outing in 2011, 2-1 in Tampa behind a pair of goals by Kingsley Bryce.
