AMES, Iowa – Saint Louis fell to 5-2 on the season after being swept by host Iowa State on Friday night at the Cyclone Invitational.
Set 1: Iowa State 25, Saint Louis 14
The Billikens and Cyclones traded points early before Iowa State went on a 5-0 run to take a 14-8 lead. SLU was unable to recover and dropped the opening set.
Set 2: Iowa State 25, Saint Louis 20
Iowa State opened the set on a 5-0 run, but the Billikens responded with a surge to take a 9-6 lead. The set remained close before the Cyclones pulled away late for a 25-20 victory.
Set 3: Iowa State 25, Saint Louis 17
After an even start, SLU fell behind 13-7 but battled back to within 15-13. Iowa State's attack proved too strong down the stretch as the Cyclones completed the sweep.
