WASHINGTON – Saint Louis sophomore goalkeeper Abby Schalow was named the Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
Schalow was strong in goal during two Billiken road games last week. Against No. 15 Saint Joseph's, she made a career-high 18 saves. Schalow followed that performance by making 14 saves in a narrow 1-0 loss at Saint Francis.
For the season, Schalow has a 1.64 goals against average and has made 47 total saves.
Schalow and the Billikens are back in action on Friday (Sept. 26) against VCU at the SLU FH Complex for Homecoming & Family Weekend. Game time is set for noon.
