WASHINGTON – Saint Louis freshman outside hitter Ellie Rink was named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday. It marks the second time this season she has earned the honor.
 
Rink had a dominant weekend, averaging 5.20 kills and 2.93 digs per set across 15 sets while hitting .266. She recorded three consecutive double-doubles, tallying at least 23 kills in every match. Rink posted a season-best 29 kills on .365 hitting against Missouri State, a total that matches the highest mark in the Atlantic 10 this year and stands as the second-best by a freshman nationally.
 
All three of her kill performances from the weekend rank among the top seven in the conference this season. In total, Rink finished with 78 kills, 44 digs, five blocks and three aces.
 
Her all-around impact helped propel the Billikens to three five-set victories, including two reverse sweeps, as SLU closed out nonconference play.
