The Billikens (4-1-3) and Zips (5-2-1) are ranked in the top 25 in this week's College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer polls. The United Soccer Coaches poll will be released on Tuesday afternoon.

This will be the fourth time this season SLU has played a ranked opponent. The Billikens defeated No. 5 SMU, fell at No. 4 Indiana, and tied No. 9 Portland earlier this year.

Both SLU and Akron have elite defensive units. The Billikens are eighth in the country in goals against, and their five shutouts rank tied for sixth in the nation. Likewise, the Zips rank among the top teams in the Big East in goals against. They have posted six shutouts on the year.

Here are five additional facts in advance of Tuesday's match vs. Akron:

1 // SLU has been ranked as high as No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. This week's poll comes out Tuesday afternoon. The Bills are also ranked in this week's College Soccer News (10th) and Top Drawer Soccer (21st) national polls.

2 // Theo Franca was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week after scoring the game-winning tally in the Bills' 1-0 win on Saturday at Duquesne. (read more)

3 // SLU goalkeeper Jeremi Abonnel has played every minute in goal. He has 18 career shutouts and ranks tied for ninth among active keepers in Division I in career clean sheets. Abonnel, the reigning A-10 Goalkeeper of the Year, is also in the top 20 in the NCAA in save percentage.

4 // Saint Louis has 13 true freshmen on its roster. Six of those freshmen have seeing playing time already this season, and four different freshmen have earned starts this year.

5 // SLU leads 8-4-1 in a series that dates back to 1960, though Akron is 3-0-1 in the last four. The squads last played in 2017 in a scoreless draw at Hermann Stadium. The last SLU win in the series came on Aug. 29, 2003, a 1-0 victory on a neutral field in Charlottesville, Va. The Billikens' last win against the Zips in Akron was in 1989, 1-0 on a game-winner by John Johnson.
