Saint Louis hosts Austin Peay, Murray State and Western Illinois in the Billiken Invitational Friday and Saturday at Chaifetz Pavilion.

Saint Louis takes on Austin Peay on Friday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m., then plays Murray State at 7 p.m. on Friday. The Billikens conclude the tournament Saturday, Sept. 6, against Western Illinois at 2 p.m.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
Saint Louis enters year three under head coachÂ
Andrea Beaty-Cain. The Billikens went 2-1 last weekend at the USI Invitational after wins over Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Freshman
Jetta Brenning recorded three straight double-doubles, while classmates
Tamia Maddox and
Ellie Rink combined for over 60 kills across nine sets.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Austin Peay: The Governors are 0-3 after falling to Murray State, Xavier and Tennessee Tech during the Stacheville Challenge. Taly Cloyd led with 28 kills over three matches, while Nya Browne hit .298 on the weekend. Gianna Tagoa'i averaged 4.54 assists per set (59 total). Defensively, Reagan Anderson collected 58 digs (4.46 per set) and Browne added 11 blocks.

Murray State: The Racers are 1-2, having also played in the Stacheville Challenge and picking up a win over Austin Peay. Outside hitter Ella Vogel, named to the All-MVC preseason team, leads Murray State with 3.24 kills per set.
Western Illinois: The Leathernecks are searching for their first win of the season after falling to Quinnipiac, UT Arlington and Bradley to open the season. Western Illinois was picked to finish sixth in the OVC preseason poll. The Leathernecks return 2024 All-OVC outside hitter Keyana Cruse, while Kennedy Adair was named to the preseason watch list.
