WHAT'S ON TAP?

  • Saint Louis hosts Dayton at a sold-out Chaifetz Arena on Friday night for the annual Billiken Blizzard. All Billiken fans are encouraged to wear white to the game or pick up the free Billiken Blizzard T-shirts that will be placed on seats throughout Chaifetz Arena.
  • Next up, the Bills head to Davidson, N.C., to face the Davidson Wildcats on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Game time at Belk Arena is slated for a 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT tipoff on CBS Sports Network.

FOLLOWING THE ACTION

  • Friday's game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. Tom McCarthy and Chris Walker call the action.
  • 104.1 FM / 1120 AM KMOX is the home for Billiken Basketball on the radio. Billiken Hall of Famers and longtime SLU men's basketball radio partners Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will call the action for all SLU games, both at home and on the road. Billiken Basketball sends a special salute to Rammer, who is in his 40th season as the radio voice of SLU hoops, and Austin who is in year No. 35. The duo were recently honored with the Burnes-Broeg Award at the Missouri Athletic Club's Jack Buck Awards.

  • Saint Louis is ranked No. 21 in the AP Top 25 this week.
  • The Billikens' 20-1 record represents the best 21-game mark in program history. 
  • SLU's 14-game winning streak is tied for the fourth-longest active streak in the NCAA and is the best streak in a season for the Bills since winning 19 straight in 2013-14. SLU is 8-0 in A-10 play for the second time in school history (2013-14).
  • SLU leads the nation in home wins this year (14) and has won a school-record 17 straight at Chaifetz Arena since last season.
  • The Billikens lead the nation in scoring margin at +23.6. SLU is eighth in the nation in scoring offense with 90.9 ppg.
  • Defensively, the Bills lead the NCAA in FG% defense (.358).
  • The Billikens are No. 1 defensive eFG% and No. 2 in offensive eFG% at KenPom.com. 
  • SLU ranks sixth in rebounds per game (43.0) and eighth in rebound margin (+10.7). The Bills lead the NCAA in defensive rpg (31.6).

  • Trey Green (11.8 ppg) leads the league and is fourth in the NCAA in 3FG% (.466). He leads the A-10 with 3.05 3s per game. 
  • Dion Brown (10.9 ppg) averages a team-best 5.9 rpg.
  • Amari McCottry (10.5 ppg) is second on the team with 5.6 rpg.
  • Ishan Sharma drilled a school-record-tying nine 3-pointers two games ago at St. Bonaventure. His 29 points were the most by a Billiken in a game this season.  
  • Kellen Thames (10.6 ppg) and Quentin Jones (9.9 ppg) have earned A-10 Player of the Week honors this season.
  • Robbie Avila has been named to preseason Watch Lists for the Naismith Trophy, Oscar Robertson Trophy, Wooden Award and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award. 
  • Billiken head coach Josh Schertz is in his 18th season as a collegiate head coach. His .780 winning percentage ranks No. 8 among active coaches in the NCAA.

ABOUT DAYTON

  • The Dayton Flyers (14-7, 5-3 A-10) are looking to snap a three-game losing skid. They are coming off an 81-76 overtime loss to Rhode Island on Tuesday night.
  • Javon Bennett leads the Flyers and is fifth in the A-10 with 16.3 ppg. He also leads Dayton in assists with 3.2 per game.
  • De'Shayne Montgomery turns in 14.9 ppg on 51.8 percent shooting (114-220) from the field and leads Dayton with 2.7 steals per game. Also scoring in double figures for the Flyers is Amael L'Etang (10.6 ppg).
  • Dayton leads the league and is 14th nationally with 9.5 steals per game. Additionally, the Flyers force 16.3 turnovers per game, seventh in the NCAA.
  • Head coach Anthony Grant is in his ninth year at Dayton with a 186-90 record. He is  379-199 in 18 seasons overall.

  • This is the 75th meeting all-time between the Billikens and Flyers. Dayton leads the series 44-30.
  • Dayton has won four against the Billikens. SLU's last win in the series came on March 3, 2023, at Chaifetz Arena.
