Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 21 Billikens Steamroll Dayton, 102-71

ST. LOUISTrey Green posted a career-high 23 points for a second consecutive game, three other Saint Louis players scored in double figures, and the No. 21 Billikens remained spotless in Atlantic 10 Conference play with a 102-71 rout of Dayton Friday night in front of 10,277 fans at Chaifetz Arena.

The Billikens (21-1, 9-0 A-10) extended their overall winning streak to 15 – the third-longest active streak in NCAA Division I men's basketball – and added to their school-record Chaifetz Arena winning streak (18). Their 21-1 record represents the best 22-game mark in program history. In addition, the Bills are 9-0 in A-10 play for the second time in program annals, joining the 2013-14 team.

The 102 points (school-record seventh time this season SLU has tallied 100 or more) are the most Saint Louis has scored vs. Dayton in the teams' 75 all-time meetings. The Billikens' 31-point victory margin is their largest vs. the Flyers when the teams have met as A-10 opponents.

Green drilled a career-high seven 3-pointers (7-of-10) to lead SLU to a season-best 60.7 percent (17-of-28) from beyond the arc. He tied for the team lead with five rebounds and matched his season high of four assists.

Over the last four games, Green is shooting 59.5 percent (22-of-37) from 3-point range. The Billikens have registered 48 treys over the last three outings, their highest three-game total of the season.

Ishan Sharma netted all 18 of his points from distance (6-of-8). Quentin Jones (5-of-7 FG, 2-of-4 3-pointers, 6-of-7 FT) also tallied 18 points while grabbing five rebounds, tying for game-high honors with five assists and matching his career high with a game-high four steals.

Dion Brown tossed in 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting and collected five boards and a career-high-tying three steals. Amari McCottry chipped in nine points and four assists.

The Billikens were 35-of-56 (62.5 percent) from the field overall, earned a 30-23 rebounding advantage and outscored Dayton 25-9 in fast-break points.

Saint Louis never trailed. After the Billikens jumped out to a quick 11-3 lead, Dayton scored the next four points to slice the margin in half, but that was as close as the Flyers would get.

A 9-2 spurt put the lead in double digits for good, 20-9, with 12:53 left in the first half. Later, a 10-0 run gave the Bills their largest first-half cushion, 42-18, at the 4:04 mark.

Dayton outscored SLU 11-4 over the final 3:40, sending the teams into intermission with the Billikens on top 46-29.

The Flyers extended their run to 23-9 in the first four minutes of the second half to trail 51-41 but misfired on a possession that could have made it a single-digit game. The Billikens regrouped quickly with a 12-0 outburst spanning three and a half minutes, and the lead never dipped below 20 the rest of the way.

The Billikens play at Davidson Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. Central. CBS Sports Network will have the telecast.
