WASHINGTON – Saint Louis senior goalkeeper Kerri O'Donnell has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
O'Donnell, who is earning the weekly honor for the first time in her career, delivered a standout performance in the Billikens' 2-1 overtime victory over Central Michigan on Sunday, recording nine saves to help Saint Louis secure a Senior Day win.
The senior was especially impressive in the fourth quarter, turning aside five shots to keep the game within reach and give the Billikens an opportunity to earn the victory in overtime.Â
It was a memorable Senior Day for O'Donnell and fellow senior Sierra Larson, who were honored in a pregame ceremony. Larson scored the Billikens' opening goal before RB McGowan netted the golden goal in overtime to seal the 2-1 triumph.
Saint Louis returns to action Friday, Oct. 16, traveling to face La Salle in a 2 p.m. A10 matchup.
