ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University women's basketball head coach
Rebecca Tillett has announced the promotion of
Frozena Jerro to associate head coach.
Jerro joined the Billikens as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator prior to the 2025-26 season and made an immediate impact on the program. She played a key role in the development of freshman
Alyssa Koerkenmeier, who was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year while also earning A-10 All-Defensive Team and third-team All-Conference honors.
"Frozena's leadership quickly became a thread woven throughout the fabric of our program" Tillett said. "She is a high-level motivator and leader. She influences every facet of our program and sets a high-character example each day. Players and staff are drawn to follow her lead. Fro uses humor to keep the main thing the main thing. She is an elite player development coach who spends hours helping players in the gym and in the office watching film. She has helped former pros reach their dreams of playing professionally and is fulfilling the same role here. Our players and staff enjoy chasing excellence with Fro every day."
Before arriving at Saint Louis, Jerro spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wisconsin, where she oversaw post player development and helped Serah Williams earn first-team All-Big Ten and All-Defensive Team honors before beginning her professional career in the WNBA with the Portland Fire.
Prior to Wisconsin, Jerro spent six seasons at Cleveland State, helping the Vikings win the 2024 Horizon League regular-season title and the 2023 Horizon League Tournament championship. She helped develop 15 All-Horizon League selections, three Horizon League Defensive Players of the Year and two Horizon League Players of the Year.
Jerro also served seven seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at UIC, where she coached seven All-Horizon League selections and seven Horizon League All-Defensive Team honorees.
Jerro began her collegiate coaching career at Houston before coaching at Cal State Northridge, where she led the Matadors to the 1998-99 Big Sky Conference championship, the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance and Big Sky Coach of the Year honors.
"I am incredibly grateful to Coach Tillett and our athletic director, Chris May, for this opportunity," Jerro said. "What Coach Tillett has achieved here at SLU, including leading this program to its first two championships, sets a tremendous standard. I'm honored to work alongside her and our awesome coaching staff as we continue building our championship culture. Saint Louis is a special place, and I'm excited to step into this elevated role as we inspire our student athletes to achieve arete on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.
A 1993 graduate of Arizona State, Jerro earned a bachelor's degree in business marketing. She was a two-time letterwinner, team captain and Pac-10 All-Star for the Sun Devils.
