Four Billikens Earn Preseason All-Conference Honors

WASHINGTON – Four Saint Louis Billikens have earned 2026-27 Atlantic 10 Conference preseason All-Conference recognition, the league announced this morning ahead of A10 Media Day in Washington, D.C. The Billikens also were picked to finish second in the league's preseason poll.

Trey Green and Kellen Thames were named to the preseason All-Conference first team, while Amari McCottry earned second-team honors and Ishan Sharma was selected to the third team. Thames and McCottry also were named to the preseason All-Defensive team.

Green averaged 10.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in his first season at Saint Louis en route to third-team A10 honors in 2025-26. He connected on 92 3-pointers – ranking second in the A10 – while shooting 44.2 percent from beyond the arc to rank sixth nationally. Thames, a fifth-year guard, averaged 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season while shooting 65.0 percent from the field. He also was a third-team All-Conference selection last season.

McCottry, who was named to the A10 third team a season ago, contributed 10.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in 2025-26. Sharma averaged 9.1 points while making 80 3-pointers and shooting 41.7 percent from 3-point range last season. He was named to the league's All-Academic team.

The four preseason All-Conference selections match the most ever for the Billikens. In 2022-23, Yuri Collins earned first-team honors, Gibson Jimerson and Javonte Perkins were second-team selections, and Francis Okoro was named to the third team. Collins and Okoro were All-Defensive team honorees, and that Billiken squad also was picked to finish second in the A10 preseason poll.

The Billikens enter the 2026-27 campaign following a school-record 29-win season in 2025-26. Saint Louis shared the A10 regular-season championship and earned an NCAA Tournament berth, defeating Georgia in the first round before falling to eventual national champion Michigan in the second round. Head coach Josh Schertz enters his third season at the helm.

Saint Louis has a home exhibition game on Friday against Bradley in a 7 p.m. tipoff at Chaifetz Arena before officially opening the 2026-27 season at home against Lehigh on Nov. 2.
