Maddox Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – Saint Louis volleyball's Tamia Maddox was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Maddox helped lead the Billikens to a pair of five-set victories over George Mason, recording 44 kills, 14 digs and five blocks across the two matches. She averaged 4.40 kills, 1.40 digs and 4.75 points per set while hitting .238 on the weekend.

The sophomore recorded a career-high 23 kills in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Patriots, adding six digs and three blocks. She followed that performance with 21 kills, eight digs, two blocks and a service ace in Saturday's five-set win.

With her performances, Maddox became the first player in the Atlantic 10 this season to record back-to-back matches with 20 or more kills against the same conference opponent.

Maddox is the fourth Billiken to earn a weekly conference award this season, while Saint Louis has now collected at least one Atlantic 10 weekly honor in three consecutive weeks.
