Saint Louis closes the regular season with a pair of matches in Louisville, Ky., this weekend. The Billikens take on Ball State in a neutral-site matchup Friday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. CT. SLU then faces host Bellarmine on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. CT.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS

The Billikens enter the weekend with a 6-9 overall record. Their six wins are the most by a Billiken squad since 2006. Two wins this weekend would give SLU its most victories in a season since 1990.

Sierra Larson leads the Billikens with nine goals. Earlier this season, she earned A10 Offensive Player of the Week honors after recording a hat trick in Saint Louis' 6-0 victory over Mercyhurst – the first hat trick by a Billiken against a Division I opponent since 1991.

Brynn Newborn has four goals and two assists for 10 points. RB McGowan, who scored the game-winning goal against Central Michigan, has found the back of the cage three times.

Abby Schalow has played the majority of the minutes in goal and owns a 2.24 goals against average and averages 5.9 saves per game.

The Billikens have been particularly strong defensively on penalty corners. SLU leads NCAA Division I in defensive penalty corner save percentage, stopping 96 percent of opponents' penalty-corner attempts.

Head coach Laura Hurff is in her second season at Saint Louis after serving as interim head coach last year. Assistant coach McKenna Sergi is in her first season on the Billiken sideline, while Gracie Burns serves as a graduate assistant coach.

ABOUT BALL STATE

The Cardinals are 6-11 overall and are coming off a 2-1 victory over Bellarmine on Thursday. Gigi Ranoldo leads the team with five goals.

ABOUT BELLARMINE

The Knights enter Sunday's game with a 3-14 overall record. They are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 loss to Ball State on Thursday. Luna Tuncay is the team's scoring leader with five goals.

UP NEXT

The Billikens remain in the hunt for a spot in the Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Tournament. The field will be announced Friday night following regular-season play. If selected, Saint Louis would make its first appearance in the postseason tournament since joining the A10 in 2005.
