NEWS & NOTES

  • Saint Louis is coming off one of the best seasons in program history, finishing 29-6 overall and 15-3 in Atlantic 10 play. The 29 were a school record, surpassing the previous mark of 28 set in 2012-13.
  • The Billikens captured a share of the 2025-26 A10 regular-season championship. SLU's 15 conference victories were the most in program history.
  • SLU made its 11th NCAA Tournament appearance last season, defeating Georgia, 102-77, in the opening round before falling to eventual national champion Michigan in the second round.
  • The Billikens set school records for points (3,053) and 3-pointers made (379) last season, averaging 87.2 points per game and 10.8 3-pointers per contest.
  • The Billikens return five players who averaged at least 9.1 points per game last season — Trey Green (10.7), Amari McCottry (10.5), Kellen Thames (9.7), Ishan Sharma (9.1) and Quentin Jones (9.1).
  • Green, McCottry and Thames were third-team All-Conference honorees a season ago. Sharma was named to the league's All-Academic team.
  • Head coach Josh Schertz enters his third season at Saint Louis after guiding the Billikens to 48 wins over his first two seasons. Schertz went 19-15 in his first season before leading SLU to its school-record 29 wins and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2025-26.
  • Schertz owns a 48-21 record at Saint Louis and a 451-130 career record. His .776 career winning percentage ranks among the top 10 of all active NCAA head coaches across all three divisions.

ABOUT NEBRASKA

  • The Huskers are coming off the best season in program history, finishing 28-7 and advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time. Nebraska also set school records for wins (28), Big Ten wins (15) and conference road wins (seven).
  • Nebraska reached as high as No. 5 in the national polls last season and finished No. 14 in both the final AP and USA Today Coaches polls. The Huskers spent a school-record eight weeks in the AP top 10.
  • Head coach Fred Hoiberg was named both AP National Coach of the Year and Big Ten Coach of the Year after guiding Nebraska to its historic season.
  • Nebraska senior wing Pryce Sandfort was named to the 2026-27 Preseason All-Big Ten Team, earning unanimous selection from the conference media. Sandfort was a first-team All-Big Ten selection last season after averaging 18.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. He ranked fourth nationally with 3.7 3-pointers per game, shooting 41.6 percent from 3-point range, and his 129 3-pointers broke Nebraska's single-season record. Sandfort averaged 21.0 points per game during Nebraska's NCAA Tournament run, including 25 points in the Sweet 16.
  • The Huskers also return Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year Braden Frager, who averaged 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a freshman and made the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. He scored 14.7 points per game during Nebraska's NCAA Tournament run.
