ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis fell to Richmond 2-0 Friday afternoon in Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey action at the SLU Field Hockey Complex.
Richmond (8-4, 3-1 A-10) broke a scoreless tie at 16:25 when Valen Luna Paratore scored off an assist from Clara Larripa. The Spiders added an insurance goal at 38:01, with Maia Dechario finding the back of the cage to make it 2-0.
The Billikens (4-8, 1-3 A-10) were held to two shots, including one in each of the third and fourth quarters. Saint Louis generated three penalty corners, two of which came in the fourth quarter, but was unable to get on the scoreboard.
Goalkeeper Abby Schalow recorded five saves for the Billikens. Richmond finished with a 22-2 advantage in shots and a 12-3 edge in penalty corners.
The Billikens host Central Michigan on Sunday for Senior Day. Game time is 11 a.m.
