The Billikens led by as many as 10 with just over seven minutes remaining in the opening half following a Brady Dunlap 3-pointer. Loyola Chicago chipped away and pulled within two late in the half, but SLU closed on an 8-0 run, capped by back-to-back treys from Green and Jones, to take a 39-29 advantage into the break.
Saint Louis put the game out of reach early in the second half. The Billikens opened the period on an 11-2 surge and pushed the margin to double figures for good just over three minutes in. Sharma fueled the run, knocking down consecutive 3-pointers as SLU stretched the lead to 18 midway through the half.
The advantage continued to grow as Saint Louis shot 58.1 percent from the field in the second half and finished the game at 50.8 percent overall, including 14-of-32 from beyond the arc. The Billikens' lead peaked at 31 points with 2:33 remaining.
