ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis freshman utility Allie Branstetter is the D1Softball Mid-Major Freshman of the Week and the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for Feb. 9-15, both organizations announced Tuesday.
 
Branstetter helped SLU post a 4-1 record at UT Martin's Skyhawk Invitational. She led the team in slugging percentage (1.300) and RBIs (seven), was second in batting average (.600) and finished third in on-base percentage (.636), and four of her six hits were for extra bases. Branstetter produced three 2-hit games and three multi-RBI games. In a 9-7 win over Valparaiso, her seventh-inning double drove in the tying and go-ahead runs.
 
Branstetter appeared in seven of the Billikens' first 10 games and drew four starting assignments. She is batting .500 with a 1.083 slugging percentage, one home run, one triple, two doubles, seven RBIs, six runs and two stolen bases.
 
Owners of a four-game winning streak, the Billikens play in Central Arkansas' Michelle Short & Adam Brown Tournament Friday-Sunday, Feb. 20-22. SLU will face Southeastern Louisiana and Central Arkansas twice and Evansville once.
