WHAT'S ON TAP?

  • The Billikens are back at Chaifetz Arena to host La Salle on Saturday afternoon. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
  • It is the final home game before a two-game road trip, and SLU also has a bye week next week. The Bills won't be back at Chaifetz Arena until Friday, Feb. 20, when they take on VCU in the annual Billiken Blue Out.

FOLLOWING THE ACTION

  • Saturday's game will be televised on FanDuel Sports Network and streamed live on ESPN+. Tom Ackerman, Troy Robertson and Tamar Sher will call the action.
  • 104.1 FM / 1120 AM KMOX is the home for Billiken Basketball on the radio. Billiken Hall of Famers and longtime SLU men's basketball radio partners Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will call the action for all SLU games, both at home and on the road. Billiken Basketball sends a special salute to Rammer, who is in his 40th season as the radio voice of SLU hoops, and Austin who is in year No. 35. The duo were recently honored with the Burnes-Broeg Award at the Missouri Athletic Club's Jack Buck Awards.

  • Saint Louis is ranked No. 19 in the AP Top 25 this week. It is the Billikens' first top-20 ranking since they were ranked as high as No. 10 during the 2013-14 season.
  • The Billikens' 22-1 record represents the best 23-game mark in program history. 
  • SLU has won 16 games in a row, its longest streak since winning 19 straight in 2013-14.
  • The Billikens lead the nation in scoring margin at +23.3. SLU is fifth in the nation in scoring offense with 91.3 ppg. The Bills are tied for the NCAA lead with seven 100-point games.
  • Defensively, the Bills lead the NCAA in FG% defense (.365).
  • The Billikens are No. 1 in defensive eFG% and No. 2 in offensive eFG% at KenPom.com. 
  • SLU ranks seventh in rebounds per game (42.4) and seventh in rebound margin (+10.5). The Bills lead the NCAA in defensive rpg (31.2).
  • SLU is one of three programs in NCAA Division I with six players averaging double figures in scoring. The Bills have eight players averaging 8.0 ppg or more. 
  • Brady Dunlap is coming off a career-high 22 points at Davidson where he went 6-of-6 from 3-point range, the best perfect shooting mark from 3 in a game in school history.
  • Trey Green is the reigning A-10 Player of the Week. He averages 12.3 ppg and leads the league in 3-pointers made per game (3.23) and 3FG% (.480, third in the NCAA).
  • Robbie Avila leads the Billikens in scoring with 13.0 ppg. He leads all centers in NCAA Division I in 3-pointers made per game (1.9) and assists per game (4.0).
  • Avila has been named to preseason Watch Lists for the Naismith Trophy, Oscar Robertson Trophy, Wooden Award and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award. 
  • Billiken head coach Josh Schertz is in his 18th season as a collegiate head coach. His .780 winning percentage ranks No. 8 among active coaches in the NCAA.

ABOUT LA SALLE

  • The La Salle Explorers enter Saturday's game 7-16 overall and 3-7 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. They have dropped three in a row, including a 10-point loss at Loyola Chicago their last time out.
  • It is the second time the Billikens and Explorers have played this year. On Jan. 10 in Philadelphia, the Billikens prevailed 84-72 over La Salle.
  • Jaeden Marshall leads La Salle with 12.9 ppg. He did not play in the game against the Bills earlier this year. Jerome Brewer Jr. is averaging a team-best 14.0 ppg in conference play, but he missed the last game due to injury.
  • Josiah Harris, who also missed the Loyola Chicago game due to injury, is the team's top rebounder with 5.7 rpg. He ranks fourth in the A-10 in offensive rebounds per game (2.38).
  • Jaden Johnson averages 4.10 assists per game in A-10 play, sixth in the conference.
  • Head coach Darris Nichols was named head coach at La Salle in the off-season. He spent the previous four seasons at Radford. 

SERIES HISTORY

  • Saint Louis leads the all-time series against the Explorers 26-10. The series dates back to the 1950s. SLU has a 20-7 record against the Explorers in A-10 regular-season games.
  • Saint Louis has won eight straight in the series and 13 of the last 14 matchups.
