WHAT'S ON TAP?

  • Saint Louis claimed a No. 9 seed in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship and will face No. 8 Georgia on Thursday, March 19, at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y. Game time is 8:45 p.m. CT / 9:45 p.m. ET.
  • The winner of Thursday's game will face the winner of No. 1 Michigan against No. 16 UMBC/Howard on Saturday, March 21. The winner of that game advances to the Midwest Regional in Chicago, March 27 and 29. The Final Four is scheduled for April 4 and 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

FOLLOWING THE ACTION

  • Thursday's game will be televised on CBS. Brian Anderson, Jim Jackson and Allie LaForce will call all games in Buffalo.
  • 104.1 FM / 1120 AM KMOX is the home for Billiken Basketball on the radio. Billiken Hall of Famers and longtime SLU men's basketball radio partners Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will call the action for all SLU games, both at home and on the road. Billiken Basketball sends a special salute to Rammer, who is in his 40th season as the radio voice of SLU hoops, and Austin, who is in year No. 35. The duo was recently honored with the Burnes-Broeg Award at the Missouri Athletic Club's Jack Buck Awards.

NEWS & NOTES

  • The Billikens are making their 11th NCAA Men's Basketball Championship appearance in program history and their first since 2019.
  • Saint Louis is 6-11 all-time in NCAA Tournament play. The Billikens reached the second round in each of their three-straight appearances from 2012 to 2014.
  • SLU has tied the school record for wins in a season (28, 2012-13).
  • The Billikens have set SLU single-season records for 3-pointers made (360, A-10 record as well) and points (2,879). 
  • SLU ranks 10th nationally in scoring offense with 87.2 ppg. Its scoring margin of +17.7 is fourth in the NCAA.
  • SLU is second in the NCAA in 3FG% (.401), fourth in eFG% (.600) and seventh in FG% (.509).
  • Defensively, the Bills lead the NCAA in FG% defense as opponents shoot just .379. SLU is fifth in the country in 3FG% defense (.294).
  • SLU ranks 13th in the NCAA in rebound margin (+7.5). 
  • The Billikens feature a balanced scoring attack with all nine rotation players averaging 5.0 or more points per game. 
  • Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year Robbie Avila leads the Billikens in scoring with 12.9 ppg. He is first among NCAA centers in assists/game (4.1) and 3s per game (1.9). He is the third center in NCAA history with 200 or more career 3-pointers.
  • Trey Green is third in the NCAA in 3FG% as he knocks down 45.7 percent of his chances from long range. His 90 3-pointers lead the Billikens and ranks fourth in school history for a single season.
  • SLU head coach Josh Schertz is a finalist for the Naismith Coach of the Year Award and the Jim Phelan Coach of the Year Award.

ABOUT GEORGIA

  • The Bulldogs enter the NCAA Tournament 22-10 overall. They went 10-8 in SEC play.
  • Georgia is appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. Like SLU, it is the Bulldogs' 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
  • One of the top scoring teams in the NCAA, the Bulldogs rank fifth in the country with 89.9 ppg. They play fast and lead the nation in fastbreak points per game (19.9).
  • Defensively, Georgia allows nearly 80 ppg, but they force a lot of turnovers (13.9, 42nd nationally) and are second in the country in blocked shots per game (6.1).
  • Guard Jeremiah Wilkinson leads a quartet of Bulldogs scoring in double figures at 17.0 ppg, followed by guard Blue Cain with 13.3 ppg, forward Kanon Catchings at 12.0 ppg and guard Marcus "Smurf" Millender at 11.9 ppg. Ten different Bulldogs have combined to produce 130 double-figure scoring outputs this season.
  • Center Somto Cyril leads the SEC and is 13th in the nation in blocked shots (74).
  • Head coach Mike White is in his fourth year at Georgia and his 15th season overall as a collegiate head coach.

SERIES HISTORY

  • This is the third meeting between Saint Louis and Georgia. 
  • The teams played a home-and-home series in 2009 and 2010, with the Bulldogs winning both.
