ST. LOUIS – The Billikens dropped a 5-3 decision to George Mason on Saturday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
Saint Louis struck first in the opening inning when
Chase Beattie singled to score
Ian Blazier for a 1-0 lead.
George Mason answered with a run in the third to tie the game at 1-1.
Both teams were held scoreless until the Patriots plated a run in the seventh to take a 2-1 advantage.
Riley Iffrig tied the game in the eighth with a solo home run.
George Mason responded with three runs in the top of the ninth to extend its lead to 5-2.
Iffrig delivered again with an RBI double in the bottom half of the inning, but that accounted for the final margin.
