THE BASICS
•
Isabel Royle fired a three-hitter, and
Sophia Boente smacked a two-out, three-run double in the sixth inning to lift Saint Louis to a 4-1 victory over George Mason Saturday afternoon in game two of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader.
•George Mason won the opener 3-2.
•SLU is 18-21 overall and 9-8 in the A-10.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•George Mason took a 1-0 lead in the third.
•Saint Louis pulled even in the sixth.
Abby Ulsas and
Karsen Jany recorded consecutive one-out singles and advanced on
Abby Mallo's fly ball. Ulsas scored when the throw from the outfield got away.
•George Mason regained the lead with two runs in its half of the sixth.
•The Billikens rallied in the seventh.
Anna Christ led off with a double, and
Kate Proffitt reached on a fielder's choice that moved pinch runner
Allie Branstetter to third. Branstetter scored on
Ava Wombles' sacrifice fly, but the next two batters were retired.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Christ had a solid outing in the circle, allowing just five hits and two walks.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Bills scored all four of their runs in the sixth. Mallo followed Jany's leadoff triple with a sacrifice fly.
Bella Stephens singled, and one out later, Proffitt singled to keep the inning alive. Wombles walked to load the bases, and Boente made it 4-0 with her bases-clearing two-bagger.
•In the seventh, George Mason loaded the bases with one out but managed to plate just one run.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Royle evened her record at 7-7 with her best performance vs. an A-10 opponent this season. She struck out five and walked only one.
•Boente added a single for a two-hit game.
•Ulsas, Mallo and
Anna Rolla had a single apiece.
