ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis used an early surge to secure the series finale against Davidson with a 7-2 victory.
Noah Andrunas earned the win after delivering 6.2 strong innings. He struck out nine, walked none and allowed just one hit and one run.
The Billikens struck in the first inning when
Drew Kleinheider doubled home
Ahmaad Duff, who had walked and stolen a base. Later in the inning,
Chase Beattie added an RBI single to score Kleinheider and make it 2-0.
Saint Louis extended its lead in the fourth.
Joey Canzoni drew a bases-loaded walk, and
Austin Neuweg followed with a two-run single to push the advantage to 5-0.
Davidson got on the board in the seventh to cut the deficit to 5-1, but
Riley Iffrig responded in the bottom of the inning with a solo home run to make it 6-1.
Hank Gomric added another solo shot in the eighth, extending the lead to 7-1. The Wildcats plated one run in the ninth to account for the final margin.
