GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis took command early by scoring five 1st-inning runs.
Abby Ulsas' leadoff single was followed by walks to
Karsen Jany and
Abby Mallo to load the bases. Christ and
Kate Proffitt walked to make it 2-0, and Stephens doubled the lead with a two-run single. Proffitt scored the final run of the inning on a wild pitch.
•The Billikens tallied three runs in the second. With one out, Jany reached on an error and Mallo walked to set the table for Christ, who delivered a two-run double. Stephens' two-out RBI single increased the lead to 8-0.
•
Sophia Boente walked and
Anna Rolla was hit by a pitch to begin the third inning. Rolla was out for interference on a ground ball, keeping Boente at second, but both runners advanced on a wild pitch ahead of Jany's sacrifice fly.
•The Bills plated their final run in the fourth.
Addie Duttlinger and Proffitt singled to begin the rally, and Stephens collected her fourth RBI of the game with a single.
•St. Bonaventure scored twice in its half of the fourth, but Saint Louis starter
Isabel Royle stranded two runners to keep the run-rule possibility in play before pitching a scoreless fifth.
