THE BASICS

Isabel Royle collected her sixth victory of the season and
Karsen Jany delivered a late game-winning hit as Saint Louis defeated Fordham 4-1 in game two of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader Friday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
•Fordham took the opener 12-4.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Fordham led 2-0 after scoring single runs in the first and third innings.
•Saint Louis went in front 3-2 in the fourth.
Bella Stephens led off with a walk, and with one out,
Kate Proffitt reached on an error.
Ava Wombles followed with her first collegiate home run, a three-run line shot down the left-field line.
•Fordham plated six runs in the sixth for an 8-3 lead.
•SLU scored its final run in its half of the sixth.
Anna Christ led off with a double, pinch runner
Allie Branstetter stole third, and Proffitt rapped an RBI single.
•The Rams added four insurance runs in the seventh.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Wombles added a single for a two-hit game.
•Stephens (double) and
Abby Ulsas (single) also entered the hit column.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Fordham grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first.
•Saint Louis tied it in the fifth. Jany's two-out double was followed by a walk to
Abby Mallo, and Stephens delivered an RBI single.
•In the Billiken sixth, Wombles singled with one out, and
Anna Rolla reached on an error with two away to keep the inning alive. After Ulsas walked to load the bases, Jany lined a two-run single to put SLU on top, and a final run scored on an error.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Royle surrendered eight hits and four walks but made key pitches when needed as Fordham stranded 12 runners. She struck out three.
•Ulsas collected two singles.
•Proffitt had a single.
