WASHINGTON – Saint Louis (23-26, 13-10 A-10) is the No. 2 seed for the 2026 Betterment Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Championship and will begin tournament play Thursday, May 7, at 2:30 p.m. Central against the winner of Wednesday's first-round matchup between No. 3 Dayton (24-22, 13-11) and No. 6 George Washington (23-20, 12-12).
The six-team double-elimination tournament, the winner of which receives the A-10's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, will be played at Saint Louis' Billiken Sports Center on SLU's Midtown campus Wednesday-Saturday, May 6-9.
Loyola Chicago (26-22, 18-6) is the regular-season champion and No. 1 seed. The Ramblers will play Thursday at noon against the winner of Wednesday's first-round game between No. 4 Fordham (23-26, 13-11) and No. 5 Saint Joseph's (24-23, 13-11).
Saint Louis, which last season claimed its first A-10 Championship crown and first NCAA Championship bid, was 9-6 vs. the tournament field in regular-season play. The Billikens were 2-1 vs. Loyola Chicago, Dayton, Fordham and Saint Joseph's and 1-2 vs. George Washington.
Last year, SLU lost its tournament opener before rattling off four straight victories to capture the title. Fordham was the runner-up.
Game times are noon, 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on each of the tournament's first three days. Championship Saturday begins at noon; if a second game is necessary, it will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.
