WASHINGTON – Saint Louis University junior third baseman
Abby Ulsas was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team, and redshirt-sophomore pitcher/outfielder
Anna Christ was named to the A-10 All-Academic team, the league office announced Thursday.
With Ulsas' selection, Saint Louis has placed at least one player on the A-10 first team every year since 2013 except for the pandemic-shortened season of 2020, when the conference did not hand out postseason awards.
Christ's selection to the 11-player All-Academic team marks the 12th consecutive season (excluding 2020) that at least one Billiken has earned a spot on the prestigious list.
Ulsas leads Saint Louis in 11 statistical categories and ranks among the A-10's top 10 in six of those – tied for first in triples (three), second in assists (114), tied for second in sacrifice bunts (six), sixth in runs (34), 10th in hits (47) and tied for 10th in hit-by-pitch (five). In addition, she is among the league's top 10 with 25 walks (sixth) and 10 doubles (tied for eighth).
Ulsas also is the Billikens' leader in batting average (.315), batting average with runners in scoring position (.421), batting average with two outs (.419), multiple-hit games (12) and total bases (63). She adds a .430 on-base percentage, a .423 slugging percentage and 17 RBIs. In conference play, Ulsas ranked seventh in the conference in batting average (.358).
Christ, a double major in biology and neuroscience with a 3.91 grade point average, leads the SLU pitching staff with a 2.76 ERA, a mark that ranks sixth in the A-10. She is tied for third in the league in shutouts (two), tied for fourth in complete games (nine), sixth in innings (111 2/3) and tied for eighth in wins (eight).
Offensively, Christ's team-high 31 RBIs are tied for seventh in the conference, and she is tied for the team lead with three sacrifice flies (tied for third in the A-10) and nine multiple-RBI games. Her 10 doubles and 21 walks are tied for eighth and tied for ninth, respectively, in the A-10, and she has registered five home runs, a .254 batting average, a .440 slugging percentage and a .360 on-base percentage.
