ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis women's basketball has announced the addition of Taylor Dunham to the Billikens' coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Dunham brings a diverse background of coaching, military leadership and high-level Division I playing experience to Saint Louis.
"Throughout a career, it is identifiable which players might make great future coaches," SLU head coach Rebecca Tillett said. "After coaching Taylor at Navy, I always hoped that we would one day work together. Taylor's intuitive leadership abilities, combined with her diverse leadership experiences, made her a highly sought-after candidate for finalizing our staff. She is an innately high-energy positive person who has the ability to change the temperature of every room she enters. When adversity hits, she creates new pathways to excellence. Her breadth of experience extends from leading an elite college team to leading as an officer in the United States Navy. She possesses a dynamic skill set, and the lessons she teaches our women will impact all aspects of their lives."
Most recently, Dunham served as a varsity assistant coach at Woodbridge Senior High School, where she has helped guide the program to two playoff appearances and a championship game appearance. Her responsibilities include practice planning, guard development, scouting report preparation, film breakdown and offseason player development programming.
"I am beyond grateful and honored to join the Saint Louis University family," Dunham said. "The opportunity to coach the game I love at such a special university is truly a blessing. I'm excited to contribute to the women's basketball program, connect with the community and help build something special alongside this staff and team. I cannot wait to get started. Go Billikens!"
Professionally, Dunham worked as a Project Lead with Systems Planning and Analysis, supporting Department of Defense initiatives and coordinating cross-functional operational planning. In 2025, she earned an Exceptional Performance Award after leading policy changes that improved project efficiency and client support.
Previously, Dunham served five years as a United States Naval Officer from 2018-23. During her military service, she led teams of 10-50 personnel in high-performance environments and earned two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals for distinguished leadership and service.
Dunham is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in general science in 2018. On the court, Dunham was a four-year starter and team captain for Navy. She finished her career as one of the top shooters in program history and scored more than 1,000 career points.
Dunham earned Patriot League All-Rookie Team honors as a freshman, third-team All-Conference recognition as a junior and first-team All-Conference accolades as a senior. She still holds Navy's single-season record for 3-point field goals made with 98 and ranks second all-time in career 3-pointers made with 241.
She helped lead the Midshipmen to the winningest season in program history with 25 victories and was part of the team that secured the program's first postseason win in the WNIT. During her senior season, Dunham also participated in the National College 3-Point Contest.
